Predicta 1.0: meet the winners
Janeesha Wickramasinghe (University of Moratuwa) wins Sri Lanka’s AI prediction challenge, with Team Optima (UCSC) and Team Datadragons (IIT) as runners-up.
Predicta 1.0 — the branch’s AI prediction challenge — brought together undergraduate teams from universities across Sri Lanka to build models predicting the evolution of a real-world dataset on Kaggle.
Winners
Winner: Janeesha Wickramasinghe, University of Moratuwa. 1st runner-up: Team Optima, University of Colombo School of Computing. 2nd runner-up: Team Datadragons, Informatics Institute of Technology.
The programme included an awareness session and two workshops — with Mr. Mahesha Viduranga (Multidisciplinary AI Research Centre, University of Peradeniya) and Dr. Kaneeka Vidanage (General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University).
